Churchwide Prayer

Holy Saturday

Build My Life

Verse 1

Worthy of every song we could ever sing

Worthy of all the praise we could ever bring

Worthy of every breath we could ever breathe

We live for You

Verse 2

Jesus the name above every other name

Jesus the only one who could ever save

Worthy of every breath we could ever breathe

We live for You, we live for You

Chorus

Holy! There is no one like You

There is none beside You

Open up my eyes in wonder

And show me who You are

And fill me with Your heart

And lead me in Your love to those around me

Verse 1

Verse 2

Chorus

Bridge

I will build my life upon Your love

It is a firm foundation

I will put my trust in You alone

And I will not be shaken

Prayer for Our Own Hearts

That we may stand in awe at the work of Jesus on the cross

  • 4 R’s

    • Reflect – Spend time reflecting on your life and walk with the Lord. What fruit has the Lord been producing in you? What has been a struggle? What are you distracted by right now? What are you pouring most of your energy into?

    • Repent – Bring your sins before the Lord. True repentance is seeing our sin, confessing our sin, mourning our sin, and turning from our sin. What have you been idolizing recently? In what ways have you been struggling to honor God? How have you sinned against others?

    • Remember – Remember Christ’s work on the cross. Call to mind truths about God and His character. What is God like? What did His sacrifice accomplish? Why did God send His One and Only Son?

    • Rejoice – Praise the Lord! He is Risen! How can you walk in the joy of your salvation this week? How can you rejoice in Him?

Prayer for Our Church

  • To communally walk in the hope of the gospel and resurrection

  • Renewed vision for those who are struggling and rest for the weary

    • That they would cast their burdens on the Lord as they trust God to sustain them (Psalm 55:22), and that they would not grow weary of doing good (Galatians 6:9)

  • Life-giving friendships that make us more like Jesus

    • Hebrews 10:24–25- “And let us consider how to stir up one another to love and good works, not neglecting to meet together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another, and all the more as you see the Day drawing near.”

  • Unity for our church family as we continue to follow God’s lead for us

  • God’s provision for the selling of the Equip Center

  • For the Southie Team to be strengthened as they prepare to be sent out

    • Specifically for the core team- The Wards, the Lotts, the Silvas, Dom, Becca, Phoebe, and Maura

    • For more God to provide more people to join the core team and a space to meet in for the Fall.

Be Thou My Vision

Verse 1

Be Thou my Vision, O Lord of my heart

Naught be all else to me, save that Thou art

Thou my best thought by day or by night

Waking or sleeping, Thy presence my light

Verse 2

Be Thou my Wisdom and Thou my true Word

I ever with Thee and Thou with me Lord

Thou my great Father and I Thy true son

Thou in me dwelling and I with Thee one

Verse 3

Riches I heed not, nor man’s empty praise

Thou mine inheritance, now and always

Thou and Thou only, the first in my heart

High King of Heaven, my treasure Thou art

Verse 4

High King of Heaven, my victory won

May I reach heaven's joys, O bright heaven's Sun

Heart of my own heart, whatever befall

Still be my Vision O Ruler of all

Heart of my own heart, whatever befall

Still be my Vision O Ruler of all

Prayer for Our City

  • That Boston would be brought to their knees at the feet of Jesus

  • That this new building would play a role in city-wide revival and equipping of the saints

  • For the Hub Institute to serve the city by equipping and resourcing other churches

    • The Hub is a Spiritual Renewal Center, so let’s pray that it would serve its purpose here in Boston of seeing people, neighborhoods, and communities renewed spiritually all across Boston.

    • Pray that through the Hub Institute Initiatives people would learn how to integrate their faith into all aspects of their lives.

    • Pray for the initiatives that have already launched- The Center for Theology and Life and the Center for Faith and Work

  • As the gospel goes forth across the city tomorrow, pray that many people’s eyes would be opened to the beauty of the gospel

Prayer for Our Country and World

  • Pray for the all the people that will hear the gospel preached tomorrow and that hearts from all nations would be pierced as they hear of the victory of Jesus

  • For our country

    • Pray that there will be revival in the U.S., and that people will not be susceptible to the “American Dream”, but will desire to build up God’s Kingdom instead. Ask the Lord for this revival to start in our own homes and ripple across the country.

  • Around the world

    • Pray for those around the world who don’t know Jesus, that they will be touched by the gospel and will bow down in worship before the Lord (Revelation 7:9-10)

  • Pray also for our partners who are faithfully proclaiming the Good News across the globe.

    • Toronto: Pray for Pastor Nathanael, his family, and God’s Body Church. That they will be strengthened by the hope of the gospel, and point others to this hope as well as they minister to Persian peoples.

    • Malawi: Pray for the Corn family. Pray that the Lord will help them learn the local language and not be discouraged, but be content in learning before they can share more freely.

    • Uganda: Pray for the Byamukama family. Pray for the filming and editing of the Ugandan Gospel. A documentary sharing the gospel to the people of Uganda.

    • Bulgaria: Pray for the Williams family. Pray that they will find a church to worship the Lord with, and for wisdom on church planting ministry moving forward.

    • Japan: Pray for the Creed, McCollum, and Sugawara families, and Mustard Seed Hiroshima. Pray that the Lord would unify their church, provide the finances, and encourage them in the transition of moving buildings.

All Glory Be to Christ

Verse 1

Should nothing of our efforts stand

No legacy survive

Unless the Lord does raise the house

In vain its builders strive

To you who boast tomorrow’s gain

Tell me what is your life

A mist that vanishes at dawn

All glory be to Christ

Chorus

All glory be to Christ our king

All glory be to Christ

His rule and reign we’ll ever sing

All glory be to Christ

Verse 2

His will be done, His kingdom come

On earth as is above

Who is Himself our daily bread

Praise Him the Lord of love

Let living water satisfy

The thirsty without price

We’ll take a cup of kindness yet

All glory be to Christ

Chorus

Verse 3

When on the day the great I Am

The faithful and the true

The Lamb who was for sinners slain

Is making all things new

Behold our God shall live with us

And be our steadfast light

And we shall e'er his people be

All glory be to Christ

Chorus x2
